Do you know a climber that wants to practice everyday? With this handmade rock climbing tumbler, you can strengthen your crimp grip while drinking any beverage. It's especially perfect for matcha or other hot tea. When your friends or coworkers see you drink from it, they'll know you're a climber.
This teacup is handmade on a pottery wheel. The crimp hold is formed out of clay and attached while the clay is still wet. Made of beige stoneware clay, the outside feels and looks like real rock. It does not contain metal and has already been fired in the kiln to over 2,000 degrees fahrenheit. So, it is safe to put in the dishwasher and microwave!
The approximate dimensions are about 4 inches tall with a 3 inch diameter rim. This size holds about 10-12 ounces. If you are looking for a custom cup that is larger or smaller, please ask!
The glaze color you choose adds a pop of color. It coats the inside of the mug and the rim. The glaze is shiny and feels like a regular mug on your lips.
The crimp hold is tiny but if your climber has strong hands it feels pretty solid. I would rate it about a 5.8 difficulty, but you'll have to try it and let me know!

I understand that handmade items will vary from the photos, but I was slightly disappointed with a few details. The small figure on the mug isn’t fully outlined in black and looks a bit smudged. The rock or grip area is also a different color from the rest of the mug, more of a brown tone, which wasn’t what I expected. It is still a very cool design, but I thought the colors would blend more seamlessly. When I ordered, the color options for the glaze were limited, so I chose the black and moss combination. It is a nice choice, although the finish is more matte than shiny. This is intended as a gift for my teacher who enjoys rock climbing, so I was hoping for a bit more cohesion in the overall look. Despite the small issues , the mug is unique and thoughtfully made, and I do appreciate the craftsmanship.
