This mug is handmade on a pottery wheel. The crimp hold and regular mug handle are formed out of clay and attached while the clay is still wet. Then, your custom phrase and the rock climber silhouette are etched into the clay.
Made of beige stoneware clay, the outside feels and looks like real rock. It does not contain a metal bolt and has already been fired in the kiln to over 2,000 degrees fahrenheit. So, it is safe to put in the dishwasher and microwave!
The usual dimensions are about 4-5 inches tall with a 3.5 inch diameter rim. This size holds about 16-18 ounces. If you are looking for a mug that is larger or smaller, please ask!
The glaze color you choose adds a pop of color. It coats the inside of the mug and the rim. The glaze is shiney and feels like a regular mug on your lips.

The crimp hold is tiny but if your climber has strong hands it feels pretty solid. I would rate it about a 5.8 difficulty, but you'll have to try it and let me know!
